Neighbors of MSH Board

The board is comprised of members who volunteer their time to coordinate club events and keep the club going for future members. We strive to hold fun, inclusive events throughout the year.

Open Board Positions

Annual board terms run from July 1–June 30. Please reach out to neighborsmsh@gmail.com if you’re interested in joining the board or planning an event. See below for position descriptions and approximate time commitment. All board members attend a monthly board meeting (1-2hr) and are expected to coordinate, volunteer at, or attend several Neighbors of MSH events throughout the year.

PLAYGROUP COORDINATOR

The playgroup coordinator is in charge of planning monthly meet ups for parents and kids. Creativity is welcome in this role - events can be indoors, outdoors, themed, at a Neighbor’s home, or a local venue. Ideally the coordinator has a child or children of appropriate age to attend the playgroups (6 years or under).

Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2-3hr flexible throughout the month

FITNESS COORDINATOR

The fitness coordinator is in charge of planning meet ups related to physical activity. Someone with lots of energy and enthusiasm toward fitness and a pulse on local studios to partner with would enjoy this role.

Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2-3hr flexible throughout the month

The following board positions are already filled for the 2023-2024 term:

CO-PRESIDENT

The club has two presidents who share the role of directing the operations and mission of the Board. They run board meetings, approve all expenditures, and respond to external email. Additionally help with planning events and are expected to attend events throughout the year.
Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 4-5hr flexible throughout the month

TREASURER

The treasurer maintains accounting records and prepares the annual budget with input from the Board. They handle monthly financial statements and account reconciliations, and annual nonprofit filing.
Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2-3hr monthly for account reconciliation

SECRETARY

Maintains Board meeting minutes and keeps track of Board files and documentation.
Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2-3hr flexible throughout the month

LISTSERV COORDINATOR

Maintains Neighbors’ listserv, updates with new memberships and keeps track of issues.
Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2hr flexible throughout the month

ONLINE ADMINISTRATOR

Maintains Neighbors’ website on Squarespace and manages memberships via MembershipWorks. Communicates with Listserv Manager and Welcome Wagon regarding membership updates.
Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2-3hr flexible throughout the month

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

Maintains Neighbors’ accounts on Instagram and Facebook. Responsible for making announcements and posting about events and monitoring comments.
Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2hr flexible throughout the month

REALTOR OUTREACH

Keeps in touch with realtors in town and provides informational materials for distribution at Open Houses and realty events.
Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2hr flexible throughout the month

COFFEE CHAIRPERSON

Organizes monthly coffee meet ups by coordinating with Board members. Sets schedule for coffees and assists with hosting where needed.
Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2hr flexible throughout the month

WELCOME WAGON

Welcomes new members to the club by reaching out and delivering a gift. Traditionally comprised of 1-3 members.
Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2hr flexible throughout the month

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Responsible for local promotion via signage, coordinating with local businesses for events, and promoting the club in the community.
Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2-3hr flexible throughout the month

SOCIAL HOUR/HAPPY HOUR COORDINATOR

Coordinates monthly or bi-monthly adult social hours at local establishments or a neighbor’s home.
Time commitment: 1 board meeting per month + 2-3hr flexible throughout the month
